Before winter is the best time to have a chimney looked at properly, especially if it hasn't been used or checked in a while. We go up into the flue and check the liner for cracks or gaps, look at the crown and cap for weathering, and check the masonry for signs of moisture or damage.
Once we've had a proper look we tell you plainly what we found, in terms that make sense, not just a pass or fail. If everything's sound we'll say so. If there's work needed, we explain what it is and why, so you can decide how to proceed with a clear picture rather than a guess.
