A smoke test to check the flue is drawing properly, with a written report you keep.
A smoke test involves introducing smoke at the base of the flue and watching how it draws, which shows whether the chimney's pulling properly or whether smoke's escaping where it shouldn't. It's a good way of confirming a flue is safe and functioning before it's put into regular use, particularly after any building work nearby or a long period without a fire.
Once the test's done I put together a written report covering what I found, so you've got something on file for insurance, for a HETAS installation, or just for your own records. If the test throws up an issue I'll explain what's causing it and what your options are.
