Getting a wood burner in involves more than dropping a stove on the hearth. I work out the right size and output for the room, check the hearth meets the depth and heat requirements, and make sure the flue or liner is connected correctly so the burner draws properly from day one.
Most installs are turned around within days of the first enquiry, including opening up the chimney and lining it where needed. You get a stove that's properly sized, properly connected, and signed off to current standards, not just bolted in and left.

Before anything gets built I talk through the options on site, rustic and old-looking, clean and contemporary, or somewhere in between, and work out what suits the room and the budget. If plans change partway through, tiles crack, a look isn't quite right, that gets worked through rather than just pushed on with.
The build itself covers the surround, the hearth and the finish around it, so the fireplace looks like it's always been part of the house rather than an add-on. Floors are protected throughout and everything's cleared away by the end of the day.

A lot of older chimneys haven't been lined properly, or at all, which is a problem the moment you want to fit a burner or bring an open fire back into use. I fit liners to current standards, sized correctly for the appliance, with the flue checked and cleared before anything goes in.
This is usually done alongside opening up the fireplace and fitting the burner, so it's one job rather than several trades in and out. Where a chimney's been blocked for years, that gets sorted as part of the same visit.
