For a bigger change, I start by listening to what you want from the space, whether that's more lawn for the kids, low-maintenance borders, or somewhere to sit out, and put together ideas around that rather than a set template. From there I carry the work through myself, from clearing and preparing the ground to planting and finishing touches.
I like to be involved in a garden beyond the initial makeover too, so once it's done I can keep it looking right with ongoing maintenance if you want that, treating it with the same care I gave it during the transformation.

Jack has been looking after our garden for several years now, and he is brilliant. He told me at the start that once he takes on a garden, he will see it as his own, and that is exactly what has happened in terms of the care and attention that he gives to all the plants. He knows his stuff, he knows what to prune, how and when. I enjoy going around our fairly small garden with him when he arrives, discussing the plants, what is thriving and what needs some tlc. He is always reliable, positive and full of advice. He does all the jobs I would find too hard and then I can enjoy looking after my tubs and baskets.I couldn't wish for better help in the garden.
