About Palmer and pooch
A groomer who genuinely loves dogs
Welcome to Palmer and pooch. I set up this grooming salon because I believe every dog deserves patient, unhurried and genuinely kind care — not to be rushed through as just another booking. Whether your dog is a seasoned salon regular or this is their very first visit, I take the time to help them feel comfortable and at ease before anything else.
I'm based in Minehead and welcome dogs from right across the local area. Every session is tailored to your dog's breed, coat type and temperament, because no two dogs are the same and I never treat them that way.

What grooming services do you offer?
I offer a full range of dog grooming services including full grooms, bath and blow dries, nail trimming, de-shedding treatments, breed-specific styling, and a gentle first-groom experience designed especially for puppies. Every service is tailored to your individual dog.
How do I book an appointment?
Just give me a call on 07547 590236 during opening hours and I will be happy to get your dog booked in. I am available Monday to Friday — see the contact section for exact times each day.
How much does grooming cost?
Prices depend on your dog's breed, size and coat type, so the best thing to do is give me a call and I can let you know once I know a little more about your dog.
How long will the groom take?
It varies depending on your dog's size, coat and temperament. A full groom can take anywhere from an hour to a few hours — I always take as long as it needs so your dog is never rushed.
What if my dog is nervous or it's their first groom?
Nervous dogs are very welcome here. I take things slowly and gently, letting your dog settle at their own pace and never pushing them beyond their comfort zone. For puppies visiting for the first time, I make it as calm and positive an experience as possible.
Where are you based and which areas do you cover?
I am based in Minehead, Somerset. I welcome dogs from right across the local area including Dunster, Porlock, Watchet, Williton, Blue Anchor, Alcombe, Dulverton and Exford. If you are not sure whether I cover your area, just give me a call and I will do my best to help.
