About Good Companions Dog Training

Kind, Positive Training That Makes a Real Difference

Hi — I'm the trainer behind Good Companions, and if you're struggling with your dog, whether they're a bouncy new puppy or a nervous rescue who's been through a lot, I'd genuinely love to help. I believe every dog is doing their best, and with the right approach they can make remarkable progress.

I use calm, positive, reward-based methods because dogs learn quickest when they feel safe, happy and understood. Every session is tailored to your dog's personality and pace — there's no rush, no pressure, just patient, encouraging work that builds real confidence over time.

I work with dogs and their owners from Frome and all across the local area. If you'd like to chat about your dog and find out how I can help, just give me a call — I'd love to hear about them.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What training services do you offer?

I offer one-to-one training sessions, puppy classes, recall training, support for rescue and anxious dogs, group classes and general behavioural support. All sessions use calm, positive, reward-based methods tailored to your individual dog.

How do I book a session?

Just give me a call during opening hours — Monday to Friday 8am to 5:30pm, or Saturday 9am to 1pm. We'll have a chat about your dog and what you'd like to work on, and find a session that suits you both.

How much do sessions cost?

Pricing depends on whether you choose a one-to-one session or a group class, and what you're hoping to work on. Get in touch and I'll talk you through the options — there's no commitment needed just to have a conversation.

How many sessions will my dog need?

It really varies from dog to dog. Some owners see great results in just a handful of sessions; others prefer ongoing classes to keep building on progress. We'll talk about what's realistic for your dog when we speak.

What if my dog is nervous, reactive or a rescue?

Nervous and rescue dogs are very welcome — I work at their pace with calm, patient handling and positive methods. There's no rushing and no pressure; we go at whatever speed feels right for your dog.

Where are you based and which areas do you cover?

I'm based in Frome (BA11 1EB) and work with dogs and owners from across the local area, including Westbury, Warminster, Shepton Mallet, Radstock, Trowbridge and Bradford-on-Avon. Not sure if I cover your area? Just give me a call and ask.
