What happens when you come to sweep my chimney?
I sheet up the fireplace and surrounding area to protect your room, then sweep the flue from the fireside using professional equipment. Once the sweep is done I'll show you what came down, inspect the flue as far as visible, and explain anything I found in plain language. I clean up fully before I leave.
How much does a chimney sweep cost?
Every job is priced after I've seen it — chimney type, fuel, access and condition all affect the work involved. I give you a clear price before I start, with no hidden extras. Call me for a no-obligation quote.
Are you insured and do you guarantee your work?
Yes, I'm fully insured. I stand behind the work I do — if something isn't right, I'll come back and sort it.
How long does a chimney sweep take?
Most sweeps take between 45 minutes and an hour from start to clean-up. A CCTV inspection or more complex job may take a little longer. I'll give you a realistic time when you book.
How do I know if my chimney actually needs sweeping?
Most open fires and solid fuel appliances should be swept at least once a year — more often if used heavily. Log burner flues can build up tar if the stove runs cool or wet wood is burned. If you're unsure, give me a call and I'll advise honestly. I won't sweep a chimney that doesn't need it.
