Yes, I am fully insured. A signed certificate of sweeping is issued after every visit, giving you the documentation required by your home insurer and confirming the work has been carried out to a proper standard.
How long does a chimney sweep take?
Most standard sweeps take between 45 minutes and an hour, depending on the appliance and flue length. I'll let you know if anything suggests it might take longer before I start.
How do I know if my chimney actually needs sweeping?
If you're burning solid fuel, an annual sweep is recommended as a minimum — more often with heavy use. If you notice reduced draw, smoke entering the room, unusual smells or it's been over a year since the last sweep, it's time to book. I'll inspect the flue and let you know honestly if anything else needs attention.
